The Galaxy Ace was once one of the main weapons in Samsung’s mid-range arsenal of Android smartphones, but it is time for it to make room for its successor. Everybody was disappointed, when Sammy announced Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. Although this was not the real successor everybody thought. Introducing the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.
Seems like mobile manufacturers are stuck in Hollywood’ish kind of sequel fever. The real reason is obvious though: Nobody wants to abandon an established brand which is already doing so good!

Summary:
The advantages are apparent with a 800 Mhz dual core processor and 480 by 800 resolution. Not to mention the bumped up internal memory (4 GB) & the RAM. The stronger dual core processor means that 720p video recording is inbuilt & video playback will be possible too.
However the biggest drawback is on the OS front. Shockingly, Sammy is still sticking with Gingerbread. Whether Sammy will upgrade the device to ICS is still unknown.

Not upgradeable. But not 100% sure until sammy confirms.
as we can upgrade the firmware for free, can we upgrade the hardware of our ace to ace 2 for free ? š
You’d be lucky! First of all, it’s ARMv7, so the ROM wouldn’t work, and ODIN an Kies wouldn’t let you flash it anyway.

I can’t tell you how much it will cost, however it will be released in the first quarter of 2012.
