Yes!! The latest firmware for India region is now DDKQ6 Android 2.3.4.
Method 1: Update using Samsung Kies
Method 2: For flashing with Odin. here is the link to the firmware: DDKQ6 (Pass: sampro.pl)
Then just follow the ODIN tutorial.
We were unable to spot any differences from KQ5 so far. Did you?
Update: One of our reader Ramit has informed that the process of taking screenshots has changed. (by pressing back and home key simultaneously)
Simply press & keep holding the Home key. Task manager will pop up. Press back. Now press lock key to take a screenshot.
This way you can even navigate in the menu (still holding the home key) or some app and take multiple screenshots at a time conveniently.

I recently installed the latest version of KIES but still I am not getting the latest firmware update. My version of Android is DDKC1. I have an active broadband internet connection still I don’t see any update available. Is there any option to manually download and install the update via KIES. Please suggest. Thank You.
Are you rooted? Have you done any customization?
watch youtube videos …how to update…..tutorial
The fonts are a bit bolder in the new update
My kies is force closing after downloading the firmware. Any solutions? I have updated the kies to recent version and using win7.
Were you able to upgrade successfully or do you need help with that? If you are only having problems with Kies, try uninstalling kies & install again. How much Ram do you have?
I tried uninstalling and installing the kies. Even I had the experience of updating to Gingerbread thru kies. But this force close error happens today. I have 3 GB of RAM.
No, actually not. The files are downloading and while in preparing stage, kies is force closing.
So are you not able to upgrade to DDKQ6 through kies?
Or you have successfully updated KQ6 & now experiencing force closes?
Please explain in detail when force close occurs or what triggers it?
Like does it occur when you start Kies or when you connect your phone to PC with Kies open?
Gaurav, sorry for my incomplete details. While I connect my phone, kies shows there is an upgrade available(as you said KQ6) and while in “Preparing firmware upgrade” stage after downloading the files, the kies is force closing by Windows. So the firmware is not upgraded yet.

Are you stuck at 0%. Did you try following the tutorial given in the related articles?
Not at all. Right after all the files downloaded(after downloading progress 100%) the kies is force closing. BTW, I followed that tutorial and also I had my own experience while updating the phone to GB.
While uninstalling, you might have forgotten to uninstall Samsung USB drivers. So here is what you should do:
Uninstall Kies. Uninstall every Samsung related entry from control panel. Reboot.
Install Kies. Connect your phone & let it install Usb drivers. Update Kies to the latest version. This will take some time. Report the result here.
Hope it works.
see if ur using internet through data card it will conflict with kies even i hav same problem………connection problem
Screen response faster without time lag noticed earlier with DDKQ5.
Well that’s a little hard to verify (I mean in terms of performance). 😛
But still thanks.
Screen response is faster, no lag after clearing the cache.
i figured out only a single change… that now instead of taking the screenshot by pressing back and home key simultaneously it now works by pressing the home key then lock key… definitely an improvement
That’s indeed very observant of you.
