Your Ultimate Guide to Samsung Galaxy Ace DDKQ6

DDKQ6 is the latest & greatest offering by Samsung for Galaxy Ace Indian users. After going through these steps, you will have a loads of features. Though if you have been following our site, you might already have some or all of these features already. Still, we wanted to compile all these at one place for newbie users.

Features:

• CWM Recovery
• Root privileges
• Deodexed firmware
• Overscroll Glow
• BackLight Notifications
• CRT Animation
• Battery Mod

Read the instructions carefully!

Instructions:

1. Install CWM Recovery:
   First, make sure you have CWM recovery installed. Complete Tutorial
2. Deodex + Root:
   
   • Boot into recovery.
   • Clear Cache and Dalvik Cache.
   • Then mount System.
   • Now flash OS 2.3.4 S5830DDKQ6_Deodex_full.zip.
     (Install the Deodex + Root Combo for DDKQ6. Complete Tutorial)
3. Services Patch:
   Don’t reboot or leave recovery yet. Download DDKQ6-services.zip. Move it to the root of your sd-card before starting the process. Flash it.
4. CF-Root b82 Ex: (Needed for custom bootanimation & BLN)
   • Don’t reboot or leave recovery yet.
   • Flash CF-Root(b-82 ex and then b82-ex-fixed). Then reboot.
     Note- It will take some time to boot. Don’t worry.

5. Overscroll + Battery Mod:
   • Once booted, extract the contents of ‘DDKQ6 Overscroll + CRT Animation + Battery Mod.zip‘.
   • Use root explorer or similar app to move extracted files /system/framework.
   • Set permissions for both files appropriately to rw-r–r– (644)
6. Enable CRT Animation: (This is done by editing build.prop file)
   • Long press build.prop from /system folder and open in text editor.
   • Modify this line

     ‘debug.sf.hw=1‘ by adding # in front of debug. So that it looks like below-
     ‘#debug.sf.hw=1′

   • Save and exit by pressing right soft key (this will backup your original build prop as build.prop.bak.
   • Reboot device.
   • After reboot go to Settings -> Display -> Animations and choose some or all animations.

For Calls: Download “BLN control – Pro” app from market
